Standard Bearer
The Madrid Branch of the Royal British Legion is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as our Standard Bearer. In this role, you will be the custodian of our Branch Standard, a symbol of the RBL’s presence in Madrid.
Key Responsibilities
Ambassadorship
Act as a visible link between the British Armed Forces community and our Spanish hosts during joint commemorative events.
Ceremonial Duties
Carry the Standard at parades, wreath-laying ceremonies, and the funerals of veterans within the Madrid district.
Drill & Maintenance
Maintain the Standard and your ceremonial uniform to the highest “Gold Standard” of the RBL, attending training sessions as required.
Dignity
A deep understanding of the solemnity of the role and the ability to act as a respectful representative of the RBL in a different country.
Mobility
Ability to travel to various locations within Madrid and occasionally further afield for ceremonial duties and training.
The Branch is a vibrant community of veterans and supporters living in and around Madrid. As Standard Bearer, you hold a position of high honour, ensuring that the sacrifices of the fallen are never forgotten, even far from British shores. You will receive full training in RBL ceremonial drill.
